Pumpkin Rice Noodles / Roasted Figs with Sage in Red Wine / Irish Ale Battered Fish & Chickpea Chips

Blog Post & Recipe: Pumpkin Rice Noodles

This pumpkin noodles with minced pork is one of my favorite noodle recipes. I love to order this at my favorite Taiwanese noodle house.

Blog Post & Recipe: Roasted Figs with Sage in Red Wine

To add to the earthy bite of roasted figs we snipped some fresh sage to the recipe. Wonderful, fragrant sage rounded off the roasted figs beautifully and the addition of some red wine really finished off the recipe perfectly.

Blog Post & Recipe: Irish Ale Battered Fish + Chickpea Chips

These chips are somewhat time-consuming upfront, but well worth the trouble. Totally delicious and marginally more healthy than potatoes because chickpeas are protein packed. In fact, you could make a meal out of the chickpea chips alone.

Za’atar / Steak Ceviche & Plantain Fries / Day Lily Stir-Fry

Blog Post & Recipe: Za’atar

Combine. Slap on, so far I’ve had it on chicken, steak and tofu. All great!

Blog Post & Recipe: Food CAN Induce Orgasm: Steak Ceviche & Plantain Fries

Place a bed of plantain fries in a small bowl. Using an ice cream scoop (preferably non-metal), scoop a dollop of ceviche on top of the plantains.

Blog Post & Recipe: The tasty flower in my backyard

The orange day lily, hemerocallis fulva, is native to Asia, where dried buds, or "golden needles" are used in cooking. The bud makes an attractive addition to stir-fries, and it's high in protein and rich in calcium, phosphorus and Vitamin A. The nutritious day lily is so easy to cultivate that it now flourishes wild in 47 American states and two Canadian territories.

Squash Blossom Pesto / Sweet Potato Fries with Orange-Nutmeg Salt / 6 Vegetarian Recipes for the Barbeque

Blog Post & Recipe: Squash Blossom Pesto [ via ]

I simple converted my standard pesto recipe, with the addition of saffron from the abandoned sauce recipe, and magic! A vivid orange sauce, nutty with parmesan and pine nuts with this mysterious undernote. Squash blossoms.

Blog Post & Recipe: Sweet Potato Fries with Orange-Nutmeg Salt [ via ]

The best success I had came at the end of my experimental process. I found that a screaming hot oven, a preheated, well-oiled baking sheet and straight or crinkle-cut sweet potatoes turned 3 or 4 times in the oven yielded the best results.

Make a Crêpe / Parmesan Rosemary Flatbreads / Pulled Lamb Pitas & Pulled Lamb Fries

Video & Recipe: How to Make a Crêpe with Jodi Liano

Jodi Liano helps cooks avoid a crêpe’s worst fate: gloppy, lumpy batter poured thickly into a regular old frying pan. Liano’s crêpes are thin, light, and topped simply with butter, lemon, and sugar.

Blog Post & Recipe: Parmesan Rosemary Flatbreads

This delicious bread is sort of a cross between a cracker and a bread ... The dough is divided into small pieces and passed through pasta rollers to make a nice flat bread. If you don't have pasta rollers, just roll them out by hand

Blog Posts & Recipes: Greek Style Pulled Lamb Pitas, and the follow-up, Greek Style Pulled Lamb Fries

After making several of the Greek style pulled lamb pitas I was looking for a bit of a change and I had just the idea. I was thinking about Greek styled pulled lamb fries something along the veins of chili fries or carne asada fries.

Polenta Chips / Romesco Potatoes / Converting Yeast-Based Recipes To Use A Sourdough Starter

Recipe: Yotam Ottolenghi's smoked polenta chips recipe

When the polenta is set, turn it out of the tray and cut into 1.5cm thick and 6cm long chips.

Blog Post & Recipe: romesco potatoes

Chiles (which manage, astoundingly, not to be so much Tabasco-hot, but punchy and bright), a piece of fried bread, peeled tomatoes, garlic, thyme, almonds and hazelnuts are ground with olive oil and the result is, regretfully, like nothing I have ever had before. Busy, loud and hearty

Blog Post: Converting Yeast-Based Recipes To Use A Sourdough Starter

There is no single method ... My approach is based on my love affair with Flo's 1.2.3 formula, in which the bread dough is made by combining 1 measure of 100% starter ... 2 measures of water, and 3 measures of flour -- all measures understood in weight. This means that the bread dough ends up being made of 1⁄6 starter (and 2⁄6 water and 3⁄6 flour).

Pickled Ginger. Fish & Chips. A Small Kitchen.

Recipe: Homemade fish and chips

Release it from its Japanese straitjacket and a world of unusual and delicious combinations await. As might be obvious, it works with a variety of fish, particularly the oily kind, whether fresh or smoked ... Or make an instant pickled salad by putting it with tiny cauliflower florets and diced cucumber, dressing it with its pickling juices and a little soy - perfect with grilled mackerel.

It's excellent with pork, whether as a pickle to eat alongside roasted belly or to add to the gravy ...

Blog Post: Kitchen Spotlight: Teeny IKEA Kitchen

Did you know that we [online magazine Apartment Therapy] have just launched our fifth Small Cool contest? We're looking for the smallest, coolest, homes we can find. This is an inspiring contest, and we love the chance to peek into people's spaces. What we're most interested in, of course, here at The Kitchn, are people's little kitchens. How do you cook in a teeny space? How do you make it work for you? We'll have our eye out for especially good small kitchens in this year's contest.

To celebrate Small Cool, here's a look at a kitchen from the most recent Apartment Therapy house tour: a big old brownstone with a teeny IKEA kitchen.
